Efficient Lipstick Filling Machine for Faster and Easier Production

Efficient Lipstick Filling Machine for Faster and Easier Production

Lipstick filling is a temperature-sensitive process that must coordinate product preparation, mold or container handling, cooling and demolding. Equipment selection depends on the lipstick formula and the required finished format.

Define the lipstick production process

  • Formula, melting range and permitted filling temperature.
  • Direct filling into a container or filling into a separate mold.
  • Mold material, cavity count and product dimensions.
  • Cooling method and required cooling time.
  • Number of colors or formulas per production shift.
  • Required cleaning and changeover procedure.

Typical lipstick filling stages

  1. The product is melted and mixed under controlled conditions.
  2. The liquid lipstick mass is supplied to the filling unit.
  3. A measured amount is filled into the mold or component.
  4. The product is cooled until it can be handled.
  5. Molded sticks are demolded and transferred to the lipstick mechanism.
  6. Finished units proceed to inspection and packaging.

Heating and temperature control

The hopper, valve and nozzle may require heating to keep the formula flowable. Settings must follow the material specification; excessive heat can affect the product, while insufficient heat can cause uneven flow or blockage.

Filling accuracy is only one part of quality

Surface finish
Depends on temperature, filling method and cooling conditions.
Air pockets
Review product preparation and nozzle position.
Demolding
Confirm mold design and cooling are suitable for the formula.
Changeover
Plan cleaning between colors and formulations.

Test with the real formula and molds

A representative material test is essential because two lipstick formulas can behave differently at the same temperature. Test the minimum and maximum product sizes, then inspect cooling, appearance, demolding and fit with the final component.
