Choose by packaging objective

A continuous band sealer, vacuum sealer and impulse sealer can all close flexible packages, but they are built for different workflows. Start with the bag material, product, desired package condition and output rather than choosing by seal width alone.

Continuous band sealing

A band sealer continuously carries filled bags through a heated sealing section. It is useful when operators need steady throughput and repeatable seals. Bag height, filled weight, sealing orientation and conveyor support should match the package.

Vacuum sealing

A vacuum sealer removes air before completing the seal. The required machine depends on whether the entire bag enters a chamber and on the product's sensitivity to pressure or liquid movement. Wet products, powders and sharp contents require additional evaluation.

Impulse sealing

An impulse sealer heats only during the sealing cycle. Manual and pneumatic versions can suit intermittent production, large bags or variable package sizes. Operator handling and cycle time determine practical output.

Material and seal testing

The bag structure, thickness and sealant layer determine the temperature, dwell time and pressure needed. A bag that looks similar may seal differently because of its laminated construction. Testing should use the final packaging material with the real filled product whenever possible.

Selection checklist

Send filled bag dimensions and weight, bag material, product type, output target, desired seal width and voltage. State whether air removal, coding or conveyor integration is required. ZONESUN can recommend a sealing method and machine format based on the finished-package objective.

Quick decision guide

Decision area What to confirm Why it matters
Continuous band Steady operator-fed production Continuous conveying through the sealing section
Vacuum sealer Air removal and controlled package atmosphere Seals after the vacuum cycle
Impulse sealer Intermittent sealing and flexible batches Heating is applied during each sealing cycle
Testing Bag laminate, product and seal area Confirms temperature, time and pressure window
Buyer’s tip: Seal width alone does not identify the right machine. Start with the bag material, desired package condition and production method.
